Short but mighty, like the city it represents, this Rome list could not come at a better time—and yes, I’m referring to the latest release of Emily in Paris - Season 4 and my most recent quick escapade to Rome with my bff (no Marcello in sight at the present moment, ugh).
As I roamed the sun-drenched, cobbled streets of Rome, and black-and-white frames of Fellini’s La Dolce Vita Trevi Fountain scene flickered in my mind, while bits of lyrics from The Lizzie McGuire Movie played on a loop in the back of my head (“Sing to me, Paolo!”), I was able to amass a gorgeous Roman collection of matches, between a savory maritozzo at Roscioli in Campo de’ Fiori and a fizzy aperitivo near the much vaunted Spanish Steps (Roman Holiday, The Talented Mr. Ripley, are you there?).
So here comes your Roman Empire, the list you didn’t know you needed, with some of the best and most classic Roman institutions offering matches up for grabs to their customers. Please make sure to patronize these spots whenever possible. We cannot make meaningful memories through matchbooks without staying for the amazing food, drinks & services provided by these establishments!
As always, we are looking to expand this list also thanks to your precious help :) If any of you have recently traveled to or will travel to la Città Eterna (the Eternal City) or currently reside there, leave us some intel in the comments section below regarding any restaurants, shops or hotels with matches that we have yet to include.
We will be updating this list as we go and make sure to notify you on any latest city additions at the bottom of this post. Keep in mind that there might be businesses from this list that stopped producing and giving out matches to their customers. In that case, we ask you to take this list with a grain of salt and to kindly inform us of any changes that you come across to help us keep our community of fellow collectors up to speed.
